It’s the season for a festive glass of eggnog by the fire and you may be surprised to know ti actually has some nutritional benefits! The holiday drink is loaded with vitamins, potassium, and protein, plus the spices used in it can be anti-inflammatory.

Here is a breakdown of each ingredient’s benefits:

  • A cup of eggnog  – contains over 400 milligrams of potassium, iron, some vitamin B12, B2 and A.
  • Egg – one glass contains 10-12 grams protein
  • Spices – nutmeg has anti-inflammatory antioxidants
