According to WVLT News, a proposal was written back in October 2024 for the Gibbs High School Baseball Field to be renamed.

Of course there is a long process to go through to have something renamed in Knoxville, but it seems this process moves quite smoothly.

We all know Morgan Wallen is proud of his roots and gives back as much as he can.

Morgan Wallen was born and raised in Sneedville, TN and went to Gibb High School.

In 2023 Wallen went back to Gibbs High School to play a pop up show and surprise the students.

Over the years Wallen has donated thousands of dollars to Knoxville Schools, and he also donated $35k to Gibbs High School.

In the proposal that was submitted in Oct. 2024, it points out all the charitable acts Wallen has done with his hometown with his charity, The Morgan Wallen Foundation.

The proposal was written to ask if the Gibbs High School Baseball Field could be renamed to “Morgan Wallen Field.”

Gibbs High School is in Knox County School district. Knox County School district’s Naming Facilities Committee will meet on March 7th, 2025 to discuss the proposal.

We are so excited about this and can’t wait to see the outcome! Wallen sure does love his hometown and baseball, we hope they rename the field in honor of him.
