Utah resident LeGrand Gold is suffering from stage four colorectal cancer, and to cheer him up his wife Alice helped him come up with a bucket list of things he wanted to do. One of those things was to meet his idol Dolly Parton, and on Friday Dolly made that happen with a phone call. LeGrand, who’s called “LG” by friends and family, was all smiles as the country superstar said, “Hello there LG, I’m Dolly P.”
In a video of the call shared to YouTube by Alice, it’s obvious that LG is blown away by accomplishing a bucket list item his wife said they thought “would be the impossible, but true to Dolly form, she once again reminds the world that dreams really do come true.” Dolly ended the call by singing a piece of “I Will Always Love You,” adding “LG” to the end. “She sang a song, put my name in the song,” LG told NBC affiliate KSL, adding “I feel like I’m immortal now.”
